As Senior Functional Consultant at Eqeep, Indiase-born Mithun Venkatesh is responsible for ensuring that our customers get maximum benefit from their ERP applications so that they can achieve their business goals. Mithun has been working at Eqeep since mid-2021, but he has taken a break from his work at Eqeep. In this blog, he talks more about his job and ambitions, why Eqeep is where he belongs, and what he does when he is not working hard.
From India to the Netherlands
Three years ago, I moved to the Netherlands from India with my wife. My journey at Eqeep started as a Business Consultant, later I became a Solution Architect, and now, as a Senior Functional Consultant, I focus on supporting implementation projects and helping customers make the best use of their ERP applications.
Why Eqeep
Eqeep is a great place to work, where everything we do matters. What I really like is the focus on quality. At Eqeep, we believe in the process, that’s what we focus on. That’s the only way to achieve sustainable results. I also firmly believe in that, that a good process gives the best outcome. It may take some time in the beginning, but in the end you get the best result because of that. Quality is what customers expect from us, so it is important that we actually deliver that.
A club of like-minded people
The team dynamic at Eqeep is also super. We don’t see each other as competitors, but rather motivate and support each other. Being able to share ideas with like-minded people provides a great opportunity for both personal and professional growth. What I especially appreciate about this team is that everyone, no matter where you come from and what your background is, is accepted and treated equally. I have never felt that I am different because I am from India. At Eqeep, they also place a lot of importance on well-being. People always come first here. If you keep your people happy, the rest will naturally follow. This creates a lot of comfort, both professionally and personally.
Return home
After two-and-a-half years at Eqeep, I decided to embark on a new adventure. I was satisfied with my work here, but felt the urge to explore my ambitions elsewhere. To my surprise, that adventure lasted only six months. I soon realised that I could fulfil my career goals and ambitions precisely at Eqeep. Fortunately, Eqeep welcomed me with open arms when I decided to return. Only one feeling remains for me: I am back where I belong.
My future plans and ambitions
Speaking of ambitions; looking to the future, I would like to see myself in a strategic role at Eqeep, where I can represent the company globally and lead large ERP programmes. My goal is to give customers confidence that their projects are in safe hands and brought to a successful outcome. In addition, I think it would be great to use my experience to mentor and help develop the next generation of consultants. By sharing the knowledge and experience I have gained over time with them, they will be better prepared to face modern ERP challenges and fulfil more complex business needs. Experience is something you can’t learn from books, but you really don’t necessarily have to make a hundred mistakes yourself first to become good at your job. You can also learn from the mistakes and experience of others. That is why it is important to be in an environment where we can share that expertise so that everyone benefits.
Work-life balance
Meanwhile, my wife and I have a two-year-old daughter, so when I am not working, I spend a lot of time with my family. I also enjoy watching a movie and spending time with friends. Although I don’t do a lot of sports, I do try to be active. I also go back to India once a year. I usually stay for a month. This is possible because I can work remotely. It’s very valuable that Eqeep gives you that confidence.
