Choosing the right solution is step one. But then managing and maintaining the solution, that step often gets insufficient attention. Organizations want to manage their applications themselves, but many of them lack expertise in that area. So for example, when an update arrives, they are left with all kinds of (still) unanswered questions. And more importantly, they fall behind on new developments. Erry, CEO of Eqeep, sees this problem come up often and gives his view on it.
Looking for answers
Application management is often a forgotten topic within organizations. Because organizations do not have (enough) expertise in-house, questions such as: What is the impact of upcoming updates? How do we deal with these updates? And how can we manage this? As a result, organizations must search for the answers. This often costs a lot of time and money because, for example, you have to hire and/or train people to get the specialist knowledge about the applications in-house.
Staying ahead means staying up to date
The above questions were also frequently asked at Eqeep, which made us think. After all, at Eqeep we believe that organizations perform best when they work in an environment that is up to date and fits their way of working. To do that, first, you choose the solution that creates your ideal world and fits your way of working. But that ideal world will only last if you are always up to date and keep up with developments. Therefore, we believe it is important, firstly, that organizations and employees really get to know their applications so that they can get the best out of them. On the other side, applications must be well maintained so that updates are done properly and organizations do not miss out on new functionalities.
What are your development opportunities?
So you can hire and/or train people to manage the applications. But what if the application vendor takes that out of your hands? After all, they know the applications inside out. With that in mind, always look for a partnership and make sure they know your organization well too. Because only then can you really help someone grow. This doesn’t work if organizations bring in a different external partner for each part that does their job “quickly. A partner who knows your organization well and sees opportunities and development possibilities, keeping you ahead. For this it is always important to look at where you are now and where you want to go in the future. Then you can determine the best route to your ideal world. How to manage certain updates and which new features are interesting depends on where you want to go.
The power of partnership
At Eqeep, we started doing what we believe in. Because we do not only know the applications well, but also get to know the organization really well. And that combination is very strong! Managed Services, or application management, has therefore been one of our valued services since 2018. What began as a pool of experts who supported our customers from time to time, quickly grew into a larger total package due to high demand. Now customers receive strategic support on a daily basis for the development and optimization of their applications. We will never just implement, but always talk to the customer. And that is appreciated. We often hear from customers that they enjoy having a brainstorm with us about upcoming developments, for example. That is the power of a partnership: you do it not just for your customers, but especially together with them.
Our Managed Services partnership with SPIE
We have been an IFS partner of SPIE for over 5 years, a good example of the added value that Managed Services offers there. Not only do we take care of SPIE in the area of application management, but we also continuously examine whether the set-up can be improved and which new developments are interesting for SPIE. This way, we keep developing IFS and SPIE can continue growing towards their ideal world.
